Robert loves comics. They provide him with an escape from daily life in Calgary while his three older brothers are off battling Hitler in Europe. When Robert finds a meteorite near his home and a meteorite features in each of his three favourite comics, he begins to believe that there is a connection between his comic book heroes and his brothers. Will Captain Ice, Sedna of the Sea and the Maple Leaf Kid be able to keep his brothers safe? Although this book gets off to a slow start, it is worth sticking with and provides a window into life on the Canadian home front during World War 2.
