This is the story of a very likable non-binary middle schooler named Green. Green lives with their dad and has a supportive and fun group of family and friends. Recently Green has developed a crush on a boy named Ronnie, but Green isn't sure if Ronnie feels the same way about them. This book connects some of Alex Gino's other book characters, Melissa and Rick, as Green goes to middle school with them. This book is a touching and quick read about growing up and finding yourself. I recommend this book to fans of realistic fiction and those who enjoyed other Alex Gino books.
I am a book loving elementary school teacher librarian. This blog reflects my personal opinions about the books I have read and is intended to be used by students and teachers who are looking for a book recommendation.
