Sister of the Snake By: Sarena & Sasha Nanua

Genre: Fantasy
Age Recommendation: Grade 7/8

This story is told from the alternating perspectives of twin sisters, Rani and Ria.  Rani is a princess, destined to be queen.  Ria is a thief who grew up in an orphanage.  The girls do not know about each other until Ria's name ends up on the king's conscription list and she and her friend, Amir, hatch a plan to escape the city.  It's during the implementation of this plan that the girls meet, use their snake magic to discover they are twins and decide to switch places.  Rani's goal is to find the fabled blood stone and save the kingdom from an impending war.  Ria's goal is to find out why her parents gave her up.  This is an exciting story, giving the reader plenty of reasons to keep reading and learning more.  I highly recommend this debut novel from twin sisters, Sarena and Sasha. Stay tuned for a sequel!
