Sadiq and his family live in Minnesota. His parents are from Somalia and the family is Muslim. In this book, Sadiq is eager to join the football team with his friends, but his parents think he is too young for football so he joins the running club instead. Sadiq is disappointed about this and it does impact his friendships, but he makes the best of the situation and things work out in the end. This is a nice story that includes information about Somalian culture and language. It is one of a series. This series would be great for students who have some experience with chapter books but still enjoy illustrated novels.
