From the age of five, Igor and his father have been moving from place to place. Igor's family is on the run because his father witnessed a terrible crime and reported it to the police. The person they all know as the Lizard Man is after them seeking revenge, so with the help of the Protectors the family moves whenever the Lizard Man gets close. In their newest location, Igor decides that he wants to go to school. He hasn't been able to attend school since he was in kindergarten and his father eventually agrees to this, but there are a lot of rules that Igor has to follow. Igor makes friends and starts to remember things about the time before his father went on the run. He even begins to think that his father might be making things up, but then things get very serious and Igor has to face reality. This Silver Birch 2022 book is a real page turner. I enjoyed trying to put the pieces of Igor's past together. I recommend this book to those who enjoy using clues to predict what's happening in a book.
