Zed Watson is a non-binary tween who is about to go on the adventure of a lifetime in search of the unpublished book, The Monster's Castle. The Monster Castle is a novel that was ahead of its time and because of this wasn't published, but hidden by the author, with only a few chapters available for readers to fall in love with. Zed is obsessed with this book and when they find out that their neighbour, Gabe, is also a fan, the two work together to solve the clues left by the author in hopes of locating the complete novel. After coming up with a route, the two just need to convince Gabe's older sister, Sam, to take them along on her road trip back to college in Arizona. This is a fun adventure and both Gabe and Zed are likable characters. Zed and Gabe are wonderful examples of being true to yourself.
