Sara Malvern wants nothing more than to be "normal". From a young age, Sara was labelled a "problem child" and has multiple diagnosis including bipolar disorder and anxiety. At school, students have labelled her Pyscho Sara and due to her outbursts she is in a classroom on her own with her own teacher. When Sara meets Erin in a group therapy session they become friends and Sara feels great being able to cross something off her list of normal rules. But things are not quite that easy and Sara's home life and friendship with Erin are put to the test. This is a Red Maple 2021 nominee and is an excellent read. If you are a fan of OCDaniel, you will love this prequel to the book. I highly recommend this.
I am a book loving elementary school teacher librarian. This blog reflects my personal opinions about the books I have read and is intended to be used by students and teachers who are looking for a book recommendation.
