Genre: Historical Fiction/Graphic Novel
Age Recommendation: Grade 5+
When Cole is caught doodling in class, the consequence is that he must do a presentation about an important Indigenous person the next day. Cole seriously considers pretending he's sick to avoid doing the presentation until his sister tells him about Thanadelthur. Thanadelthur was a Dene woman who was captured by the Cree. When she escaped and ended up at Fort York, she was given the task of helping to create peace between the Dene and Cree people. This graphic novel tells her incredible story.
I am a book loving elementary school teacher librarian. This blog reflects my personal opinions about the books I have read and is intended to be used by students and teachers who are looking for a book recommendation.
