Genre: Realistic Fiction
Age Recommendation: Grade 4+
This latest book, from Deborah Ellis, who just happens to be one of my favourite authors, did not disappoint. In this book, we meet a number of different characters and get a small glimpse into their world. The book begins with Jafar, who must work in a chair factory to earn money to help pay his family's debts, but makes the time to learn to read and write and leaves a little message on the chairs he helps build. Each's character's story is very well told and I truly enjoyed this book.
I am a book loving elementary school teacher librarian. This blog reflects my personal opinions about the books I have read and is intended to be used by students and teachers who are looking for a book recommendation.
