Genre: Realistic Fiction
Age Recommendation: Grade 6+
Mrs. Olinski's sixth grade Academic Bowl team is having some unexpected wins, even against the seventh grade team. This is a story of 4 unlikely friends with surprising connections to each other. The story is told from the perspectives of the Academic Bowl team members, Noah, Nadia, Ethan, and Julian. The individual characters are interesting and getting to know them and watch them develop is enjoyable. This book is recommended to anyone who likes to read about unexpected heroes.
I am a book loving elementary school teacher librarian. This blog reflects my personal opinions about the books I have read and is intended to be used by students and teachers who are looking for a book recommendation.
