Seven grade 5 students tell the story of their grade 5 year with Mr. Terupt. Mr. Terupt is new at the school. He has a lot of energy and is fun. He really understands his students. Each of the seven students has issues to deal with in their life and all of the students have to cope when their beloved teacher has an accident and they don't know what will happen to him. This is a thought provoking book. It would make an excellent read aloud. It is the first book in the Mr. Terupt series - "Mr. Terupt Falls Again", "Saving Mr. Terupt".
