Fragile Bones By: Lorna Schultz Nicholson

Genre: YA/Realistic Fiction
Age Recommendation: Grade 7-8

This is the first book in a series that is based on the real international Best Buddies program that pairs students with “disabilities” with a buddy. The story is told from the perspectives of Harrison and Anna. Harrison has Asperger’s Syndrome and Anna is a high achieving student. I thoroughly enjoy this series of books and have heard rave reviews from students who have read them. This book explores the themes of inclusion and understanding each other's differences. If you enjoy this one, be sure to check out "Born With" and "Bent, Not Broken".
