Emma had a wonderful relationship with her grandmother. Gram always seemed to know when something was troubling Emma and they both shared a love of stories. When Gram passes away, Emma notices an unusual pale spot on her skin. The spots turn out to be a skin condition called vitiligo. Emma feels like her world is falling apart and to top things off she's starting at a new school. Fortunately, Emma finds a true friend who accepts her for who she is and she uncovers some things she didn't know about her Gram. This is a wonderful story of family, friendship and accepting who we are. I highly recommend this book to those who like realistic fiction with a touch of magic.
