This book is about the Vikings in Newfoundland. The main character is Keira who is a slave to the Vikings and finds herself rescued by the Beothuk after nearly drowning. The Beothuk people take her in and she learns their ways, but Keira finds herself torn between wanting to stay with the Beothuk and returning to her homeland. This is an exciting story, that creates curiosity about this time period.
